Montreal airport allows passengers to pre-book to skip security queues

Montreal airport has pioneered a service offering pre-booked slots at security for departing passengers. The SecurXpress system gives priority to passengers who book a time to pass through security at Montréal-Trudeau airport. The service is free
and available on all flights other than to the US, with pre-booked security times available for up to five people per booking. Passengers or their agent simply need to book online no more than 24 hours before their flight departs and then confirm their registration by replying to a text – which is the only cost of the service. Montreal is served direct from
Heathrow by British Airways and Air Canada and from Gatwick by Air Transat. The airport is also served by Air France via Paris Charles de Gaulle, KLM from Amsterdam and Lufthansa via Frankfurt. James Cherry, president and

third-largest, was previously among the first to introduce automatic border control, self- check in and bag-drop services. The pre-booked security scheme is already being considered by other airports. Montréal-
Trudeau is also running a pilot scheme to fast-track
international arrivals booked on connecting flights to destinations around

Transport IT Summit in Brussels: “International passengers connecting to domestic flights will no longer be required to collect their bags on arrival at Montreal, as at present.” The Montreal Airports chief is chairman of airport association Airports Council International in North America.
