announced that it has expanded its Graphite™ Human Machine Interface (HMI) operator panels with two new communication modules,
offering
support for some of today’s most popular industrial protocols. Designed for use with the Graphite HMI platform,
the PROFIBUS® (GMPBDP) and DeviceNet™ (GMDN) plug-in modules provide the connectivity customers need to add powerful monitoring and control functionality to their existing operations.
Red Lion’s new plug-and-play modules support the rising demand for device interoperability, allowing customers to leverage Red Lion’s rugged Graphite HMIs – with built-in protocol converter and 300+ communications drivers – to support virtually any automation equipment. The GMPBDP module adds PROFIBUS DP slave support while the GMDN module allows the HMI to perform as a DeviceNet Group 2 server.

he recently upgraded TIM-EC interface, developed to provide a flexible solution for transmitting torque and speed signals digitally via the EtherCAT fieldbus system is now available from HBM test and Measurement specialists.

he Demag V-type crane has won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015, which is a major worldwide award scheme for product innovation. The international judging panel, comprising designers, design professors and trade journalists from 25 nations, made the award in the machinery product category, in recognition of the innovative crane girder design. The Red Dot accolade follows on from the success of the patent pending V-type crane design at the prestigious iF Design Award at the beginning of February. he EA eDIPTFT43-ATC intelligent display is now available with capacitive touch-screen. Touch is detected whether or not the user is wearing gloves. Usable with normal and standard medical gloves. The display is designed for day-to-day use in harsh industrial environments with a 6H surface hardness making it scratch resistant. With the zero bezel design the capacitive touch-screen is usable in environments where strong cleaning agents are used and traditionally resistive touch-screen could not be used. The EA eDIPTFT43-A has 480 x 272 pixels, diagonal screen size 4.3 inch and supports up to 65,536 colors. Bright LED backlighting with high- contrast images. Depending on the application this display can be mounted horizontal or vertical. The orientation is software selectable. These intelligent displays many clever graphics functions and fonts.
