PRODUCTS TECHNOLOGY FILE NEW DESIGN OF MOBILE SCADA
Advantech’s Industrial Automation Group (IAG) has launched WebAccess 8.0 which it claims is a leap forward in the design of SCADA software. Going beyond SCADA, WebAccess 8.0 is also an HTML5 Business Intelligent Dashboard that can be opened from anywhere on any HTML5 compatible browser. The Business Intelligent Dashboard analyses data and helps managers make decisions as to what to do and WebAccess 8.0 also provides developers with the tools to design their own widgets and applications and the integration of Microsoft Excel reports. Through HTML5, a limitless number of users, with varying access levels are able to read information and make changes from wherever they are using either the Internet or Intranet. The front-end of WebAccess 8.0 is the dashboard, and through
this HTML5 graphical user interface users are able to monitor and diagnose issues with their end devices. Through the use of many built-in widgets, customers are able to watch and analyse equipment to see the information that they want. The large number of pre-built widgets gives users the ability to get going immediately without the need to program extra functions.

ROBUST PANEL PCS FEATURE THE LATEST MULTI-TOUCH TECHNOLOGY
The next generation of Valueline panel PCs from Phoenix Contact now offers a robust industrial design and projective- capacitive displays with multi-touch. They are therefore a resilient solution for operation and monitoring concepts directly on site. The panel PCs are fan-less. All key
components are equipped with maintenance-friendly access points. The device can be extended by a PCI-/PCIe slot. Data security is increased, thanks to two mass storage devices and RAID support.
The processor can be selected to meet the requirements: Intel Core i5-4300U, 4th generation (Haswell) or Intel Celeron N2930, 3rd generation (Baytrail). Versatile networking of the Panel PCs is possible via the 4 x USB 2.0 or 2 x USB 2.0 and 2 x USB 3.0 interfaces as well as 2 x display port video output. In addition,
display sizes of 15.6, 18.5, and 21.5 inch widescreen are available. The new generation of Valueline industrial PCs was recently awarded the Product Design category of the prestigious reddot Design Award 2015.

SAFETY RELAYS Featuring front facing screwless terminals that cut installation time and easy visualisation of wire connections when mounted in the panel, the ultra-slim G9SE relay from Omron Electronics is available in three different models to meet many safety application requirements. These models provide options for various safety output configurations and for adjustable off- delay times. All are compatible with a variety of safety devices such as E- stops, door switches and safety sensors. All relays in the range are suitable for use with both mechanical and electronic sensors and incorporate highly visible LED indicators that provide an instant indication of fault conditions together with valuable diagnostic information. Another key feature of G9SE relays is the fast response time of 15ms maximum. G9SE relays have up to four safety outputs rated at 5A, plus an auxiliary PNP transistor output. Typical applications include single and two- channel emergency stop functions as well as monitoring doors, guards and safety light curtains.
