New Synchronous Drum Motor: energy-efficient and powerful
Laser Cutting - Moulds the Future
Synrad CO2 lasers within the injection moulding cells. Each cell contains two Synrad CO2 lasers, one is used for cutting off the moulding sprues, the other is used to mark manufacture dates directly on the moulding. Once moulded, large sections of trim are transported by robot to the laser cutter where the robot accurately guides the trim to remove the sprues or profile an edge offering a clean, consistent and accurate finish. The robot then transports the moulding to the laser marker which marks the moulding with the date and time and, if required company logo and a unique identity, either by conventional barcode or 2D matrix.

precision moulding company has improved its output of automotive trim with the addition of
powerful, energy-efficient generation of drum motors ever developed, enabling one drive system to suit all needs and speeds (0.01 m/s up to 4.5 m/s). Easy-to-install, this is the most eco- friendly drive solution for belt conveyors in the areas of food processing,
T
checkweighing, automotive, logistic and many more industrial applications.
Unlike externally mounted geared motors with secondary transmission, the new Synchronous Drum Motor easily integrates within a conveyor due to its all-in-one design and compact size.
The planetary gearbox transfers 92-95% of the
available electric motor power directly linear to the conveyor system, providing a total output efficiency of up to 82%. This means that the mechanical power loss in comparison to other drum motors or conventional motors with secondary transmission is dramatically reduced.

This energy saving drive solution offers excellent start-stop performance, optimum torque at all speeds, a maximum acceleration/braking performance and low operating drum temperature of approx 45° C, making them ideal for conveying temperature sensitive or perishable goods,
whilst also reducing the risk of packaging, bacteria propagation.
These drives require zero maintenance and can be installed in wet and high pressure wash down applications.
Acceleration from zero to 100 percent can be achieved in milliseconds and when fitted with a servo drive and feedback system, this can be increased up to 151 m/s2 depending on the motor type and load.
Intermittent movements on conveyor systems for pick and place, filling or cutting as well as discharge operations or automated check-in terminals can be significantly speeded up.

aintain higher quality standards by overcoming the challenge of managing large amounts of production data. Learn more about the advantages software management programmes can offer food manufacturers. Download METTLER TOLEDO’s brochure ‘ProdX - Data Management Software’ and discover a more streamlined, accessible and efficient method of managing your product inspection programme. Briefly outlined is how data management software can help manufacturers to meet local weights and measures legislation. This helps to support compliance to international food safety standards including GFSI, BRC and IFS.
Also explained are the reports and real-time diagnostics which ProdX produces, which helps improve process efficiency by eliminating data-gathering production line patrols.

Portable Vibration Calibration P
CB Piezotronics, a world leader in vibration, acoustic, pressure, force and torque sensors has announced The Modal Shop’s new 9110D
Portable Vibration Calibrator offering laboratory grade accuracy, allowing industrial plants to reduce perceived risk when under review for business interruption insurance. Capable of validating accelerometers, velocity sensors,
proximity probes and 4-20mA loop vibration sensors, the 9110D creates ISO 17025 compliant calibration certificates in Microsoft Excel®. A printed and filed certificate provides proof to insurance risk engineers that a plant is following recommended best practice standards for maintaining its condition monitoring system. The Modal Shop is a global calibration authority of over 20 years standing. Each portable vibration calibrator is backed by extensive application knowledge and a policy of total customer satisfaction.

CRM functionality integrated within PSL Datatrack
RM functionality and a dedicated Management module are additions to PSL
Laying the
foundations for improvements in customer-focused administration, they offer
advantages over web-
based CRM systems which can often be too complex. Features include a single register for customer contacts that can be shared by everyone and document management that enables customer and supplier correspondence to be saved. Tasks can be assigned to Quotations, Works Orders, Purchase Orders or other modules, making information available for everyone to access. A sales pipeline feature enables forecasting of the likely success from quotations. The Tasks Management Module provides a powerful multi-user shared “to do” list which can be used to define any non-production administration or management tasks.
