Sixteen-year-old Sarah Osborn (Hampton, Virginia) surprised herself and her competitors when at the age of 15, she fi nished in second place overall at the 2014 Winter Airgun Cham- pionships (pictured left). Not only had she earned a spot to compete for the U.S. at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Changwon, Korea in April, she was also selected to compete in the Meyton Cup in Innsbruck, Austria and Bavarian Airgun Championships in Munich, Germany in January. After a whirlwind of international competitions now under her belt, she tells us a little bit about herself.

How did you get started in shooting? I got started in shoot- ing with my brother. He got a BB gun for Christmas. My dad was a member of a lo-

cal shooting club where I live and he took him to go shoot his new gun and learned of a junior program while he was there. One Friday night, he took my brother and me to shoot. Someone said that I should shoot while I was there too and they set me up that night. I liked it a lot so I kept coming back with my brother and it became something that I never gave up after that.

What does a typical day look like for you? My typical day starts at

5:30 a.m. I go to the gym in the mornings before school, which starts at 8 and I am there until 2:30 or 3:15 p.m., depending on the day. My school will allow me to get out early for practices on Monday and Wednesday. Af- ter school, I train. After that, I do homework until bedtime. I don’t usually have time for much else.
