Leeds Minster reduces carbon footprint thanks to Crompton
the historical Leeds Minster as part of a campaign by the Church Council to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. The original lighting consisted of

over 300 halogen lamps internally with 25 sodium floodlights externally around the building. Running costs were high and
problems included constant maintenance due to frequent lamp failure. Minster council member Chris Jackson contacted Crompton for advice and they suggested replacing the old 60W Halogens with 5W LED MR16 lamps. These high powered lamps have low power consumption and have a life of 30,000 hours. Chris Jackson commented “We are
extremely grateful to Crompton for all their valuable advice and donating the new lamps. Apart from the
amp supplier Crompton, has donated a number of LEDs to

Marshall-Tufflex who are in their final weeks of training for the Hastings Half Marathon. The team – Helen Munday, Rachael White, Annette Fry, Josh

Hayler, Joe Johnson, Laurence Glaze and trainer Hannah Hayler – will be pounding the pavements of Marshall-Tufflex’s home town on March 22 to raise cash for Demelza House Children’s Hospice. Experienced runner Hannah, who is also tackling the London
Marathon in April, has been training the team since September. She said: “Everyone has been training really hard and putting in lots of time and effort, often on dark, cold and rainy evenings. The training is not only raising money for a good cause and improving staff morale but has also given some of the team the running bug!” The Marshall Tuff Legs team includes very experienced runners (Hannah with several marathons and half marathons under her belt) to those who have never run before and lots of levels in between. Ages range from teenage to mid forties and represent different
