Schneider Electric announces OzTastic promotion winner

last year, the promotion, open to electrical contractors, was the latest installment of EZrewards. Paul Jones of Central Electrical Contracts was among the hundreds of electrical installers who entered the competition in the hopes of winning a once in a lifetime trip to Australia. Paul and wife Beverly jetted off to Australia at the end of February to attend the Clipsal 500 motorsport event in Adelaide. Paul received his Oz tickets at a presentation made by Vladimir Tichy (Final Installations Director) at his local wholesaler Edmundson Electrical in Wolverhampton. The promotion also saw thousands of other


chneider Electric is sending one lucky customer and his wife down under, as a


prizes given away with winning scratch cards included in Schneider’s products. In the largest promotion ever undertaken by Schneider Electric’s Final Installation division, over 420 electrical wholesale trade counters took part, with more than half of those hosting an OzTastic breakfast morning. Tim Barber, distribution programme manager at Schneider Electric comments: “The OzTastic promotion has been a massive success for Schneider Electric, the comments and feedback from customers has been overwhelming and has helped make our relationships even stronger. We wanted to end the year and the EZrewards promotion with a bang; you can’t get better than a holiday to Australia! We hope Paul and his wife have the time of their lives.”

Klein Tools rises to the top in Tools of the Trade 2014 US survey K


lein Tools, sold in the UK through City Electrical Factors Ltd, has been named as


a preferred brand in a US Tools of the Trade 2014 survey of 731 tradesmen. Out of six common tools, Klein was the preferred brand for two – screwdrivers and lineman’s pliers. The survey focused on six tools including two types of measuring tapes, screwdrivers, wrenches, lineman’s pliers and pump pliers. For screwdrivers, Klein took first place with 32% of the vote while competing against 22 manufacturers. When the survey was divided up by trade, three out of four electricians preferred


Klein screwdrivers. For lineman’s pliers, Klein took over half of the


vote at 51% – over 2.5 times more than the runner up – while competing against 19 manufacturers. When the survey reflected only electricians’ opinions, almost 76% chose Klein. “Klein Tools has been using the highest quality materials and superior workmanship for over 150 years,” said Greg Palese, Vice President of Marketing


at Klein Tools. “This award acknowledges our hard work and dedication to making the best professional tools for tradespeople.”

‘Light on our Feet’ team are up for Snow Camp’s Alpine Challenge

he LIA’s Steve Davies and Marie Czupalla, Lumicom’s Peter Hunt and Simon Cook along with Lux Magazine’s Peter Rowledge make up ‘Team Light on our Feet’ who will be skiing 150km over two days for Snow Camp’s Alpine Challenge in Morzine, France, this month.


Snow Camp is an innovative youth charity that uses skiing, snowboarding and life-skills


programmes to support inner-city youngsters. “The training is intense; we will be pushing ourselves mentally and physically to the limit. 150km
