FB Ibérica Lda celebrates successful market introduction
One year after the foundation of FB Ibérica Lda – the youngest family member within the Fastbolt Group – the company has successfully completed its launch into the Portuguese and Spanish distribution market.
B
ased in Albergaria-a-Velha, Portugal, FB Ibérica Lda compromises of a freshly formed team of fastener
specialists managed by industry veterans Hilário Santos and Moisés Cardoso (pictured below). Having already been active in the Spanish and Portuguese market for many years Fastbolt Group decided to create FB Ibérica Lda to enable it to have an established presence in closer proximity to its Iberian customer base. The local sales force of FB Ibérica Lda now offers a variety of new opportunities to further grow the business in both countries.
“Before we had FB Ibérica Lda we
were approximately 2,000km away from our Iberian customers,” says Ekkehard Beermann, managing director of Fastbolt Group GmbH. “Now our customers can benefit from extremely fast deliveries in all areas of the market – including a next day service in some. Our branch in Portugal is perfectly positioned close to the port of Leixões and has easy access to the main motorways – A25, A1, A17 and A29. This guarantees fast and efficient goods receipt operations for our incoming containers from the Far East, as well as ideal geographical pre-conditions for our outbound logistics within Portugal and to Spain.” FB Ibérica follows the core principles
of Fastbolt’s business strategy of selling a specialised product range of high-quality standard fasteners to distributors only. Fastbolt’s current stock range covers a portfolio of ten product groups – self-tapping screws, self-drilling screws, chipboard screws, threadforming screws for plastics (PLASFAST®
), threadforming screws for metal (TRITAP®), machine screws,
hexagon socket head screws, high-tensile bolts, set screws, nuts and threaded rod. “We strive to constantly increase
our stock range, but place product competence above size of range,” explains Ekkehard Beermann. “We believe that this competence is a prerequisite to being a successful strategic partner with European distributors.”
While sourcing and stock control of
FB Ibérica is carried out by Fastbolt’s central purchasing department in Germany, all other activities including sales, logistics and accounting are being managed in Albergaria-a-Velha. In addition to communicating with the external and internal sales team of FB Ibérica, customers also have access to Fastbolt’s well known and technically advanced online inquiry and order system – FBonline – displaying available and future stock of FB Ibérica’s 2,000 pallet location warehouse, as well as stock in Fastbolt’s central warehouse in Germany. As of next month Fastbolt will launch FBonline 2.0 – a new software version featuring a number of innovative functionalities and a complete facelift of the current system. Customers of all Fastbolt’s European warehouses (Germany, UK and Portugal) will be able to take advantage of the new software version. “After successfully completing its
launch we are looking forward to what the future will bring FB Ibérica Lda,” says Ekkehard Beermann. “The warehouse and team of FB Ibérica Lda offer an efficient basis to successfully establish a local supply partner for distributors in the Spanish and Portuguese markets, with the potential to grow the company and its infrastructure while increasing its business volume.”
