“Both the SD9 and SD11 offer the ability to mix 5.1 stems on one fader, unfold them and then collapse them back down to one fader. It is actually incredible that a console as compact as the SD11 can offer 5.1 mixing and monitoring,” James comments.
DiGiCo’s broadcast consoles range from the 32 mono or stereo channel SD11B mixer up to SD7B with 256 processing channels. Unique features such as input 'Flexi' channel and multichannel inputs make DiGiCo’s broadcast mixers a cost effective solution with enough busses to cope with the most demanding broadcast applications.

The DiGiCo range of modular and fixed format I/O racks as well as optical and coax interconnection provides the broadcaster an enormous degree of flexibility to configure
DiGiCo systems to their exact requirements, with
100 per cent redundancy. The SD Rack forms a highly adaptable I/O nerve center that delivers 192kHz high resolution analogue I/O converters and multiple digital formats, including AES, ADAT and Aviom, in addition to a full 64 channels of MADI I/O as standard.
“We offer comprehensive AES I/O, but there is also an HD/SD/SDI card option available for embedding audio onto a video stream. We can also run over 500 channels of 96k on a fibre infrastructure, incorporate a full Optocore system and share up to 14 racks with any of the consoles on the network, in addition to a Broaman system for audio and video routing.”

DiGiCo joins new Pro Audio Group James Gordon was appointed the Group CEO of a new professional audio group that includes UK mixing console manufacturers Allen & Heath, Calrec and DiGiCo. This collaboration will benefit customers of all three brands, as the collective R&D teams now share technology and resources. James comments: “We are now in one family, which means we can share and add unique features to each brand and facilitate easier compatibility between the systems. The collective R&D departments can see features and hardware in the family that can be useful across the group,”
Gordon assures that customers of each brand will receive the same level of support, if not more. He says, “Although we have bold plans for the group, it is imperative that each company maintains its own independence and style. When we start to work with unique features and get closer together, customers will see some serious benefits. A company like NEP Visions, who are both DiGiCo and Calrec customers, will see significant advantages in the way the systems operate with each other in the near future.”
