Sennheiser Esfera captures World Cup in Surround Sound
Millions around the world watched the World Cup coverage on TV. While 4K led video technology, a new dimension was added to the audio broadcast by way of Sennheiser’s Esfera Surround Microphone System.
Sennheiser’s Esfera Surround Microphone System
The Sennheiser Esfera Surround Microphone System produces complete 5.1 surround sound from just two channels of a compact stereo microphone. The SPM 8000 microphone combines two RF condenser microphone capsules in an XY configuration that can create a 5.1- channel surround effect. When used in conjunction with the SPB 8000 processing unit, the Esfera system converts the signals of the microphones into a complete 5.1 audio signal.

Sennheiser HDM Pro
Sennheiser’s HDM Pro Hearing Dose Management module utilises sophisticated LimitEar technology to provide protection against the causes of Noise Induced Hearing Loss from reproduced sound. Compatible with Sennheiser’s HD 25 [70 ohm] headphones, it is designed to comply with the Noise at Work Regulations.
HDM Pro is a simple solution that ensures personal Hearing Dose Management, protecting the user from impulse sounds, loud sounds and excessive noise dose by delivering three levels of protection at all times. Full dynamic range is maintained by controlling volume rather than limiting and sounds over 118dB are not permitted. HDM Pro is available pre-fitted or as a separate accessory cable for existing HD 25 owners.
