HOUSING SERVICES STAFF


FACILITIES AREA COORDINATORS (FACS) – FACs are professional staff members who are responsible for facility management and administration. FACs live on campus and manage specific housing areas. The FACs coordinate all housing inspections, clarify and enforce standards of health and safety for residents and manage most building access-related issues. Facilities assistants, who perform building inspections within designated areas, report to FACs. In addition to supervising the facilities assistants, FACs also supervise the desk receptionists, who work at the front desk fo each hall. The FACs also respond to major facility-related emergencies outside of normal business hours.


FACILITIES ASSISTANTS (FAS) – FAs are student staff members who live and work on campus in a specific housing area. FAs perform frequent building inspections and quarterly in-unit inspections of all on- campus housing units. The FAs also address lock- outs and respond to facility emergencies after hours.


DESK RECEPTIONISTS (DRS) – DRs are student staff members who are responsible for monitoring the card- swipe access at residence hall front desks. The DRs check identification, maintain the computerized visitation check-in system and serve as friendly campus resources for residents and their guests. The DRs manage the guest sign-in process for visitors in the residence halls. Hall front desks are staffed by trained student staff between the hours of 8 a.m. and midnight, and by professional security attendants from midnight to 8 a.m.


LEAD DESK RECEPTIONISTS (LDRS) / GRADUATE DESK SUPERVISORS – LDRs are student supervisors who are responsible for supervising desk receptionists between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and midnight. LDRs serve as a secondary level of support staff and residents, and with hiring and training. LDRs assist with emergency response such as fire drills or severe weather. Graduate supervisors provide support and supervision to the front desk operations together with the facility area coordinators.


OFFICE ASSISTANTS (OAS) – OAs are student staff members who assist in daily office tasks for various areas of Housing Services. OAs are assigned to the main, east, west and central area offices and can assist residents with questions about on-campus housing.


HOUSING SERVICES CREW (CREW) – Crew is comprised of student staff members who follow up on general furniture and appliance-related work orders and are responsible for setting up and removing temporary furniture. Crew performs regular inspections of common areas and is involved in a wide variety of housing facility projects.

RESIDENTIAL EDUCATION STAFF RESIDENCE DIRECTORS (RDS) – RDs are professional staff members who supervise the student resident advisor (RA) staff, as well as facilitate the educational and social

opportunities in your building. RDs are available for support, advice and advocacy. They typically live in an apartment in a residence hall. RDs are responsible for responding to policy violations and providing emergency response to student incidents that occur outside of normal business hours. Your residence director will be an advocate for you when you


need one!


ASSISTANT RESIDENCE DIRECTOR (ARD) – The ARD is a graduate student staff member who is responsible for assisting the residence director in supervision of the resident advisor staff, and for providing community-building and educational opportunities. The ARD lives on campus and can provide emergency response to student incidents outside of normal business hours. The ARD office is located in Munroe Hall.


RESIDENT ADVISORS (RAS) – RAs are students who live on your floor and have been selected and trained to assist and support you. They help create a community by providing educational opportunities and referral information. They can also help you address roommate conflicts and adjust to college life. OFFICE ASSISTANTS (OAS) – OAs are student staff who assist in the daily office tasks for various RD and central office staff in Residential Education. Each RD has an OA assigned to them.


JUDICIAL OFFICE ASSISTANTS (JOAS) – JOAs assist in the processing of paperwork related to the student judicial process, as well as record keeping of student incidents. They work in the central office of Residential Education.


UNIVERSITY MINISTRY RESIDENTIAL RESOURCE RESIDENCE HALL CHAPLAIN – The residence hall chaplain provides a pastoral presence to students living on campus and connects them to the wide variety of events, programs and service opportunities offered through University Ministry. The residence hall chaplain also works closely with Residential Education staff on the community experience and programming related to the Vincentian mission and values.
