Cattle Raisers to Meet in Austin for Fall Meeting TSCRA members and friends invited to Sept. 24 to 26 meeting in Austin

ATTLE RAISERS WILL BE TALKING ABOUT HOW TO KEEP CONTROL OF THEIR PROPERTY AND BUSINESSES AT THE SEPT. 24 TO 26 TEXAS AND SOUTHWESTERN CATTLE RAISERS
ASSOCIATION (TSCRA) FALL MEETING AT THE SHERATON AUSTIN HOTEL AT THE CAPITOL. Policy experts will bring information on the Envi-
ronmental Protection Agency’s proposal to expand its authority over the “waters of the U.S.,” possibly requiring ranchers to seek federal permission to conduct routine activities on their ranches, and on the July 29 ruling by the D.C. Court of Appeals upholding the country-of- origin labeling regulation that could potentially cause our Mexican and Canadian beef trading partners to impose signifi cant tariffs on the U.S. Other topics on the agenda are closer to home – a
discussion on the eminent domain authority of com- mon carrier pipeline companies; a look at the role Texas game wardens fi ll in enforcing border security; and a preview of the 2015 session of the Texas Legislature by Speaker Joe Straus. Cattle raisers will want to hear Climatologist Evelyn
