USAS National Championships for Rifl e & Pistol
in Men’s Prone Rifl e and Men’s and Women’s Air Pistol.
In Junior Men’s Prone
Rifl e, National Champion Remington Lyman (Mer- iden, Connecticut) will join silver medalist Garrett Spurgeon (Canton, Mis- souri) and bronze medal- ist Tim Sherry (Highlands Ranch, Colorado) in Spain. Spurgeon and Sherry earned World team slots in all Junior Men’s Rifl e events. Joining them on the Junior Men’s Air Rifl e team for the World Championship is Michael Steinel (Lowell, Ohio).
The Junior Women’s
Air Pistol team welcomed Junior National Champion Lydia Paterson (Kansas City, Kansas), silver medal- ist Helen Oh (Walnut, Cali- fornia) and bronze medalist Taylor Gallegos (Prosper, Texas). For Day 3 of Nationals, Rapid Fire Pistol champions were crowned, though only
Junior division medalists would earn berths on the World Championship team. National Champion Alex
Chichkov (Temple Terrace, Florida) will be joined in Spain by Brian Kim (Los Angeles, California, left) and Tony Chung (Diamond Bar, California, right). Chichkov had already earned his way to Spain when he fi nished second in the Junior Men’s Air Pistol event. The gold medalist for
Junior Women’s Three-Po- sition Rifl e, Lauren Phillips (Seabeck, Washington) also won gold in the event at NJOSC earlier this year. Join- ing her on the podium were Nicole Hankey (McKinney, Texas) who won silver and Junior Women’s Air Rifl e gold medalist May who took bronze.

lie Stanfi eld (Fairbanks, Alaska) will represent the U.S. at the World Champi- onship in Junior Women’s Three-Position Rifl e.

would also win appoint- ments to the National Junior Team by virtue of their top-two fi nish at Nationals or selection to the World Championship team. On the fi nal day of
competition, Junior Men’s Air Pistol champion Wyatt Brown (Twin Falls, Idaho) claimed his second champi- onship title of these Nation- als by winning Junior Men’s Free Pistol. He will join his brother, Will, on the World Championship team. Junior Men’s Air Pistol
silver medalist Chichkov also joined Brown on another podium by winning the silver medal in Free Pistol. The pair had already secured their spots on the World Championship team for Air Pistol, but will now also be joined on by Junior Men’s Free Pistol bronze medalist David Wilkinson (Charleston, South Caro- lina).

Sport Pistol, Cindy Chung (Diamond Bar, California) would claim top honors. Irina Andrianova (Scha- umburg, Illinois) won silver and Gallegos picked up her second bronze medal of this National Championships, also placing third in Junior Women’s Air Pistol. Chung declined her
World Championship team slot so Andrianova and Gal- legos will be joined by Kellie Foster (Rockdale, Texas).
