Want to know how you could have scored 100%? We look at some options to create an ideal itinerary
Valencia
If your client is looking to balance a city break with a beach getaway, then Valencia could tick all the boxes. This Spanish city may run at a slower pace than others, but that’s mainly because its white-sand beaches make it the perfect place to relax in the sun. Its mix of architecture is a big part of Valencia’s charm, with stunning modern buildings standing alongside historic churches and monuments.
City sights
The city is divided by the dried-up river where the River Turia once ran. It’s now been transformed into beautiful green parks and gardens that stretch across the city – the walkway is well worth a visit. At the end of the walkway is the modern part of town – the City
of Arts and Sciences (pictured), which houses a science museum, planetarium, Imax cinema and arts museum. First-timers are advised to
explore the cathedral quarter which combines several churches, a water court and the cathedral itself. A trip to the top of the latter’s Micalet Tower provides stunning views of the older parts of the city.
Ocean world For families, a good option is the Oceanografic museum, where youngsters can get up close to wildlife on an African ‘safari’ at the Bioparc and learn about underwater life. For those keen to explore more of the city by bike, Attraction World offers a morning Bike & Tapas tour, priced £31 for adults and £24 for children.
