Cunard creates nine single cabins on Queen Elizabeth
Cunard is looking to attract more solo passengers after creating nine single cabins on Queen Elizabeth. The cabins were added to the ship while it was in drydock in May and June. It’s the first time Cunard’s current fleet has offered single staterooms, but QE2 did offer them before the ship went out of service. The cabins, which all have small double beds, are mid-ship and close to the Empire Casino, the Royal Court Theatre and the Queens Room, where afternoon tea is served. Eight of the cabins are outside but don’t have balconies. The rooms are on sale now
and available for sailings from December 16. The first sailing available for booking with single cabins is a three-day taster cruise
from Southampton, Boudicca’s 76-night Around Africa & the Indian Ocean cruise sets sail on January 5, 2016. Black Watch’s 115-night Around the World with the South Pacific cruise departs from Southampton on January 8, 2016. The two cruises will take in 70 ports in 42 countries.
