hen you attend U.S. Women’s National Team Open Tryouts, you never know what might happen. Look no further for evidence than outside hitter Kim Hill, a former AVCA All-Ameri- can at Pepperdine. After fi nishing up her indoor eligibil-

ity, Hill played sand for the Waves in 2012 and 2013, but she decided to return to the indoor game and attend last year’s national tryouts. U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team Head Coach Karch Kiraly and the rest of the staff liked what they saw, and she was invited to join the national team in the spring of 2013. Within a couple of months, she was not only a full-fl edged member of the team, she was a starting outside hitter for the U.S.
