Taking place from 10th – 12th September at the Four Seasons Resort Marrakech, the event will see the gathering of business, government and academic leaders in the wellness, travel and Spa industries from around the world.


Also to be held on 10th September is the second annual Global Wellness Tourism Congress which brings together ministers of tourism and thought-leaders to analyse current market conditions and develop new strategies to further develop wellness tourism.

Spafinder Wellness 365™recently released the findings of their 2013 ‘State of Spa Travel’ report, designed to provide annual insight into emerging consumer trends in the North American Spa travel market.


According to the study, travel agents reported growth of 73% in bookings to hotel, resort and destination Spas during the course of 2013. In addition, there was increased demand for locations off the beaten track; with travellers seeking immersion in more exotic and unique, indigenous cultural experiences as opposed to ‘generic luxury’ destinations. The survey also shed light on the evolving Spa traveller demographic, revealing that ‘women traveling with other women’ now represented the number one way people now journey to Spas.

Leading Spas from across the globe gathered at London's Guildhall recently to celebrate the third annual World Spa & Wellness Awards.


Hosted by actor and TV presenter Alexander Armstrong, the event recognises and rewards the achievements of Spas around the world. Acknowledging excellence of care, service and standards, they aim to inspire locations worldwide and serve to raise international industry standards. Honourees on the night included the ESPA at The Europe Hotel & Resort, Killarney, Co Kerry which scooped ‘Hotel Spa of the Year - Western Europe and Scandinavia’.
