Welcome to the Official Show Preview for Infrarail 2014


With investments in the UK’s rail infrastructure running at unprecedented levels, business is being generated at all levels of the supply chain. However, accompanying these investments are demands for innovative thinking and value for money. The response from suppliers will be on show at Infrarail 2014 at Earls Court in London from 20 to 22 May. More than 180 companies will come together to present their latest products and the new ideas they can bring to the rail market. On display will be equipment, materials and services for signalling, communications, track construction and maintenance, civil engineering, station equipment and much more – all focused on creating and operating a safe, reliable and cost-effective railway infrastructure. Strengthening the case for a visit to this year’s show is our wide-


ranging programme of supporting events. Included are keynote speeches by industry leaders, industry seminars, updates on current major UK rail projects and discussion forums. These offer something of interest for everyone and are open to all attending Infrarail. Details appear on the following pages. Our 3rd Infrarail Awards dinner on the evening of the second


day of the show will acknowledge exhibitors’ innovations and achievements, as well as providing a welcome opportunity for bringing people together. Similarly, old acquaintances can be renewed and new ones made at our ever-popular Networking Reception with drinks and canapés at the end of the opening day.

A big development this year is the


launch of our new Civil Infrastructure & Technology Exhibition – CITE 2014. Covering the equipment, products and services needed for constructing and maintaining vital infrastructure such as roads, ports, utilities and communications networks, this will take place alongside Infrarail and visitors will be free to move between the two events. With much common ground across the entire infrastructure sector, many exhibitors have welcomed this move. We feel it will considerably enhance the value of time spent at the combined shows. This will be our tenth Infrarail and it remains as relevant as ever


for anyone involved in planning, specifying, constructing and operating fixed railway assets.
