Computers for harsh environments
Panasonic Computer Product Solutions (CPS) will demonstrate its range of Toughbook laptops and new Toughpad tablets, which it says can operate in railway environment conditions where other devices fail, connecting field-based professionals with data, applications and office-based support teams. Toughpads complement
Panasonic’s Toughbook range of specialist computing devices where exposure to
mobile working environments is a constant challenge and the consequences of failure are significant. The firm will showcase two of its fully ruggedised devices: the Toughbook CF-31, the flagship model of the Toughbook range; and the market leading convertible laptop, the Toughbook CF- 19. Also on show will be the latest range of Toughpad tablets, the thin, lightweight and yet fully rugged 10.1” Windows 8 Pro FZ-G1.
Machines for signs and labelling
A recently launched range of industrial quality sign and labelling machines will be on display by Rebo Systems. Offering portability, durability and independence from PCs and networks, the new Toro and Lobo systems are claimed to be ideal for both in-house and on- site work, where there is often no power available, and offer a release from the impractical need to have a PC or laptop connected. The Toro is a complete ‘all in one’ system that has a full colour screen, keyboard, mouse and Windows operating system. It enables users to design and create signs and labels from 13mm to 100mm wide, producing anything from health and safety signage, equipment
and cable marking, asset and engineering tracking labels through to inspection labels and outdoor durable tagging. The Toro runs from the mains or from an internal battery pack giving up to three hours continuous usage. The Lobo is designed as
both a ‘carry around’ and a desktop system. It uses all-in-one ‘snap-in’ material cartridges, making changes of colour, size and type of material extremely easy, and calibrates automatically for each type of cartridge installed. Features include a full size
keyboard, mains or battery power, integrated carry handle and an enormous range of pre-installed graphics and label layouts.

Be sure to pay a CITE visit
Show visitors will also be welcome to see what is on offer at the Civil Infrastructure & Technology Exhibition – CITE 2014, which takes place alongside Infrarail at Earls Court. Many of the exhibitors at this new event have products targeted at the rail market, one example being Fosroc. Its dedicated rail sector team will present a wide range of construction materials, including including concrete admixtures, surface treatments, grouts & anchors and waterproofing. Also in the portfolio are joint sealants, concrete repairs, surface coatings and industrial flooring. Among current projects employing Fosroc materials are Crossrail (pictured), the Birmingham New Street regeneration scheme and Manchester Metrolink.
