odelers are often looking for rail-served industries that can be added to a layout. An ideal customer might be one that ships in and out a variety of materials and possibly even has its own locomotives or railroad to service its daily needs. Such a facility could be modeled in to- tal, being the sole subject of a layout; in part–using building flats and a few sidings or just inferred by the use of a siding running to the edge of the lay- out. What type of customer fits this bill? Well, how about a United States Government facility? Today it’s known as the Sacramento

Valley Railroad (SAV) and it is the ex- clusive freight carrier for the 3,000- acre McClellan Business Park’s 2.4
