Russian Ball at


the Albert Hall Venski Bal Moska recently hosted the Russian Ball at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the first time since 1921. A Russian tradition spanning more than 200 years, the Russian Ball in London brought Russian royal tradition to a modern era. Tis unique event highlighted the best of classic Russian history, society, entertainment and culture, while drawing attention to the modern Russian community’s cultural, artistic and economic contributions within the UK. Te event featured a top-notch


entertainment line-up, including performances by Te Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, a gala concert with three of Russia’s top tenors, Daniil Shtoda, Dmitry Korchak, and Vladimir Galouzine, and Evgenia Obraztsova, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Teatre. Te Ball commenced with an elite grand opening ceremony featuring 60 couples from Russia and Great Britain. Te evening was hosted by Svyatoslav Belza, the People’s Artist of Russia, and included choreography by master choreographer Leonid Pletnev, and waltz directed by chief dancing master and Vice President of the World Dance Sport Federation, Stanislav Popov.
