Oklahoma Woman Arrested in Stolen Cattle Case

HASKELL, OKLA., WOMAN WAS ARRESTED IN LATE OCTOBER ON THE FELONY CHARGE OF knowingly concealing stolen property. Christen Allen, 31, was arrested
after she sold stolen cattle at the Durant livestock auction. If convicted, she could face up to 5 years in prison or 1 year in the county jail. TSCRA Special Ranger Bart Perrier is heading investigations into 2 sepa-
rate thefts of registered cattle from the Langford Hereford Ranch located in eastern Okmulgee County. The thefts occurred weeks apart and involved 19 head of cattle worth more than $100,000. On Oct. 11, TSCRA put out an alert seeking information on the thefts. Further
investigation found sale records from Oct. 10 that indicated 10 head of cattle sold by Allen matched the description of the stolen cattle. Those cattle have since been located and were positively identifi ed as part of those cattle stolen. Perrier says the investigation into the thefts is ongoing with Allen as a

focus. Additional charges and arrests for the theft of the cattle are expected in the coming weeks. Perrier encourages anyone with information on the thefts or possible location of the remaining missing cattle to contact him at 918-275-4257. Allen was arraigned and released on a $5,000 bond.

HE SECOND SUSPECT IN A PONTOTOC COUNTY CATTLE THEFT SURRENDERED TO AUTHORI- ties in November. Larry Gene Smith Jr., 48, of Antlers, Okla., was taken
into custody Nov. 12, 2013, on a charge of larceny of domestic livestock. The fi rst suspect, David Lynn Wallace, 48, of Allen, Okla., was arrested on Oct. 31. According to TSCRA Special Ranger Kent Dowell, Wallace and Smith are
suspected of stealing nearly 100 head of cattle from a ranch in Pontotoc County. Authorities with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture said the cattle
were reported missing in early October. An investigation revealed that at least 43 head were sold at the Atoka Livestock Auction. Smith and Wallace are in custody on $500,000 bonds. This was a joint investigation between the Oklahoma Department of Ag- riculture and TSCRA.
