Raising the Bar Jessup introduces Administration and Justice
Designed to meet an increasing demand and market niche, William Jessup University now offers an Administration and Justice degree program. Te one-of-a kind program provides servant leadership by preparing and training students for careers in Public Administration or Criminal Justice.
“Te new Administration and Justice Program is a direct response to a growing need for Sacramento-area professionals working in government, nonprofit organizations and law enforcement to have an option for furthering their careers with bachelor’s degrees,” said Phil Escamilla, Jessup’s interim Public Policy Chair. “Te program’s content and delivery format are unique and provide an option not only for those currently working in these fields, but also for students seeking to further their studies with a concentration in Public Administration or Criminal Justice.”
Meeting the needs of adult learners with busy lives and limited schedules, the program offers an increased availability of online options to students and working professionals. It combines the best of technology with face-to-face opportunities to collaborate with other like-minded adults in the program and utilizes a cohort structure.
“We in the School of Professional Studies (SPS) are very excited to assist the Department of Public Policy on the first integrated degree program of its kind,” said Sam Heinrich, Director of SPS at Jessup. “Te Department of Public Policy and SPS will be working with various academies and community colleges to maximize students’ units in transfer to gain university credit for their
professional training and work experience and provide individual assistance in program planning.”
Jessup’s dual-track program allows students to choose a focus in Public Administration for career enhancement in government, community service or public relations. For those students looking to advance their career in law enforcement, corrections, probation and parole, the Criminal Justice track provides the curriculum of choice.
Delivered in an accelerated program format, students gain a strong foundation of knowledge and skills related to the management and organization of today’s public agencies. “Te program brings theory to practice as it will include as instructors several leaders in the local Administrative Justice community,” said faculty member, Keith Bolte.
“Te William Jessup University Administration and Justice program brings to our region a unique blend of online student accessibility, with the academic rigor required to develop strong leaders in the law enforcement profession,” said Rocklin Police Chief and Jessup Adjunct Professor, Ron Lawrence. “With practitioners from the law enforcement field teaching courses, students receive real-world applications to theoretical concepts. Students earning this degree will be prepared to lead California law enforcement well into the future.”
Students can enroll in nine to 11 units a semester, attaining their degree in as few as 18 months.
