Elizabeth (Malech, 09) and Jensen Near were married on June 22, 2013, in San Martin, CA. Elizabeth completed her Master’s Degree in Gerontology and Corporate Organization from Sacramento State University. Elizabeth is back on Jessup’s campus, supporting Student Life. Her husband Jensen is the Resident Director of Tiffin Hall at the Rocklin Campus.
Corey and Emily (Darlington, ‘03) Kukis welcomed Austin Howard into the world on July 9, 2013. They live in Aloha, OR where Corey works at Intel and Emily is a stay-at-home mom.
Kyle (‘11) and Alyssa (Amack, ‘13) Johnston were married on August 18, 2013 at the Evergreen Lakehouse in CO. They live in Citrus Heights, CA. Kyle is a videographer for Bayside Church in Granite Bay and is contracted by William Jessup University, Mikuni Sushi as well as other local businesses.
Jason (‘13) and Kaela (Gottlieb, ‘09) LaFarge were wed on August 27, 2013 in Benicia, CA. Jason recently completed his second Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Jessup. The LaFarges work at the Rocklin campus and reside in Newcastle, CA. Alumni that joined them at the altar were Michael LaFarge (‘08), Becky O’Brien (‘09), Marci Rohlfing (‘13), Karen Anderson (‘10), Amanda Roelofs (‘10), Sam Pech (‘09) and Jeff Green (‘06). The ceremony was officiated by Steve LaFarge (‘82).
Jeremy (‘09) and Anne (Oates, ‘09), Beaumont with their daughter Juliana, celebrated the birth of their new son, William on July 25, 2013. Jeremy is the Youth Director at Abundant Grace Chinese Church in Orangevale. They live in Auburn, CA.
On August 13, 2013, Sarah (Olson, ‘08) and Dr. Michael Lang were married in Sacramento, CA. Sarah became a Juris Doctor in May 2013 on the same day that Michael became a medical doctor. Sarah currently works in political law while awaiting her California Bar Exam results and Michael works in UC Davis Hospital’s surgery department. The Langs celebrated their wedding at a reception in November.

Ryan Doyle (‘09) and his wife Alyssa, recently moved to Lancaster, CA where he is teaching 7th and 8th grade Math at Desert Christian Schools.
Josiah (‘08) and Carly (‘08) Gelsinger live in Gilroy, CA. Josiah is an Analyst II for Seagate, a hard disk drive company in Cupertino, CA and Carly is a freelance writer. The best part about their lives is their little “lovebug,” 7-month-old Georgiana.
Ben (‘09) and JoyLynn (Miller, ‘08) Wong celebrated the birth of their first born, Isaiah Leeran Wong, on July 16, 2013. The Wongs live in Hayward, CA where Ben is an Account Manager at TMC Soſtware in San Francisco and worship leader at their home church. JoyLynn is a stay-at- home mom aſter working as a Behavioral Therapist for five years.
Ryan (‘07) and Mary Rose (Simonson, ‘10) Swarts tied the knot on August 10, 2012 at the Blue Goose Event Center in Loomis, CA. The Swarts live in Rocklin where Ryan teaches History at Buljan Middle School and is the Activities Director. Mary Rose recently earned her Montessori Credential and is now a teacher at Sunrise Montessori School in Roseville, CA. Alumni that joined the Simonson wedding party were Brett Swarts (‘07), Nick Breitbart (‘07), Stephen Simonson (‘08) and Jessica Edrington (‘11).
