she had no qualms about the possibility of them dampening her luck: “I just love them! And I have a tattoo of one so they’re definitely not bad luck!” “We wanted a vintage theme


with lots of hand-made, recycled stuff. We were collecting things for ages before the wedding. We sourced lampshades from amenity sites to decorate with flowers and use as table centrepieces, and we collected loads of free bits and bobs, shopped in charity shops, searched beaches and even tips!” Heidi’s flowers echoed the


vintage feel; her heart shaped bouquet was scattered with glittering brooches sourced from charity shops, but the roses and succulents took centre stage.


“I love roses – I wanted to use


lots of them because they come in so many colours and varieties. The succulents were Noel’s input because they were always his favourite thing in the shop. I found it really difficult to choose the flowers because as a florist, I just love everything! So the decision was pretty spontaneous – we just went to the wholesaler and picked from whatever was in stock.” She did try to make sure lots


of her arrangements used flower that meant they could be made fairly far in advance, but as a self- confessed control freak she had to made her own bouquet! “I knew exactly what I wanted


and knew I wouldn’t be able to guide anyone else to make it perfectly, so I was in my hotel room at 10pm the night before the wedding making it!” She did let her staff join in though - each of her girls designed the floral décor for her lampshade centrepieces and she also had stunning Joe Massie-


inspired pedestals consisting of large round cage-like structures of twigs bursting with pink and green blooms. “It was really nice having the


girls design their own lampshades because it meant each one reflected the different style of each of my members of staff.” Although when asked whether she’d allow one of her customers to have the same set-up she said: “Probably not!! Or I’d have to charge thousands! Just because
