The Heart of Georgia Board held its first “ Are You
Smarter Then a 10 Year Old?” fundraiser on September
10 in Griffin. The event was an overwhelming success, with five schools sending
students to participate, and the Heart of Georgia Board team winning first place.
WALTON-BARROW At the Walton-Barrow Board’s
lunch eon in September, Brenda Thompson, District 10 RPAC Trustee, and James Hester,
Alternate Trus tee, presented Neal
Jackson with his NAR Hall of Fame plaque. The plaque recognizes
dedicated mem bers whose RPAC investments total an aggregate
lifetime amount of at least $25,000. Neal also received a flag flown over the US Capitol in his honor for his President’s Circle commitment to the RPAC President’s Circle.
CRSGEORGIA CHAPTER The CRS Georgia Chapter met in Destin during the GAR Annual Convention & Expo, and was joined by Mary
McCall, 2013 national CRS President (see photo above). Mary was the featured speaker for this event, and gave the group an update on CRS’s national activities and initiatives. The annual CRS Chapter With a Heart’s recent fundraiser was a success, raising a total of $1,325. The funds
allowed CRS Georgia to continue its financial assistance to the Ronald McDonaldHouse and The Fisher House, which are both located in Augusta, as well as the GAR Scholarship Fund. At the Georgia CRS Board of Director’s meeting, officers for 2014 were nominated. Dana Bauguss will serve as President, Marvelyn Boyette will serve as Vice President, and Margie Medlin will serve as Secretary/Treasurer.

(ABR) and First Multiple Listing Service (FMLS) Show- case 2013 Trade Show at Cobb Galleria on August 22. All proceeds from the one-day event help fund ABR’s 12th Habitat for Humanity house, which was dedicated on October 26. “We were very pleased with this year’s turnout,
though not surprised given the caliber of the sem- inars and keynote presenters,” said ABR President Nancy See. “In addition, 118 industry-associated vendors were on hand to share information on their products and services. The overwhelming majority of attendees providing feedback said that this was the best show to date.” In addition to the debut of Supra’s new iBox BTLE
and a special lockbox exchange program, the event featured keynote presentations by Nobu Hota, Di- rector of Digital Engagement with the National Association of REALTORS
® , and Max Pigman, Vice
President at
REALTOR.com. Technology Theater, the hourly trade-related seminars sponsored by FMLS, included presentations from Andrew Lacey from the Lacey Group and Eric Stegman of Tribus Real Estate Websites. In addition, various national and local speakers outlined the latest industry mod- els, best practices and technology enhancements.
NORTHEAST GEORGIA
On June 23, the Northeast Georgia Board (NEGBOR) held their first 5k Race at Meeks Park in Blairsville. There were more than 50 participants, and awards were given to each age group in both male and female divi- sions. The NEGBORheld a picnic afterwards that included a RPAC auction. The Board plans to make the 5k race an annual event.
