ping paper to all of your clients in a few days, or you can simply drop some off as you’re passing by the homes of past or current clients in the weeks leading up to the holidays. This is a superbly easy and cost effective way to stay top of mind. It also has zero calories, which people appreciate!

HANDWRITTEN NOTE/CARD

Once the holidays hit, the number of holiday cards can be

overwhelming. But the number of them that actually have real handwriting in them and that are truly personal are few and far between. If you want to stand out, send your hand- written holiday note early and make it as personalized as you can. Even if you have bad handwriting, it doesn’t matter! People appreciate that you took your time to think of them as individuals and not as a number on your database.

THROW A “WRAPPING” PARTY I’m not a fan of shopping for gifts and I’m REALLY not a

fan of wrapping them either! How about picking a Saturday and offering to gift wrap presents for your clients at your home or office? They can drop them off and go shop for more while you wrap them. Or, they can come and use your sup- plies to wrap the gifts themselves. Wrapping is MUCH more fun with friends, music, munchies and a glass of wine!

POST-HOLIDAY RECOVERY PARTY Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to compete with the

holidays. Instead of hosting a big event in the month of De- cember, how about hosting one once the holidays are over? We routinely host a party (which we’ve named the “Frosty Party” after the snowman) on the Saturday night between playoffs and the Superbowl. We find that by this time of year, people have recovered from the glut of holiday parties and are ready to get back out there to see people and socialize. Whatever you do, don’t stress out and remember that it

isn’t about the actual gift you give your clients. The biggest gift you are giving is your time, which is so much more valu- able than any one material thing that you could offer them. Simply check in with your clients as a reminder that you are ready to serve them when the need arises. There’s NO better way to set yourself up for an awesome first quarter of 2014!
