and state REALTOR associations,” she says. And so, ®
forty-one years after Marion Ivey’s 1973 tenure as GAR President, his protégé follows in his footsteps.
GOALS FOR 2014 With her passion for governmental affairs, it should come
as no surprise that Linda Carol’s first goal for 2014 involves political advocacy. “My goal for the coming year is to make our association the strongest voice for private property rights in Georgia,” she says. Linda Carol encourages everyone to understand the value of our advocacy involvement and be personally involved in protecting our industry. Three easy ways to become involved are by attending Legislative Day at the State Capitol, investing in RPAC and answering Calls for Action. “If every member stood together in the halls of the State Capitol, invested in their business through RPAC and answered the Calls for Action sent by our Governmen- tal Affairs Team, our collective voice at the state Capitol would be even more powerful than it is now.” Education is another passion for Linda Carol. Her other
focus for 2014 is training GAR members in the latest tech- nology that will help elevate the real estate profession in Georgia. “It’s not enough to provide the tools, we must pro- vide the training necessary to use these tools to [the members’] utmost advantage.” Linda Carol plans to ensure that tech- nology is a focus at both of the GAR Conferences in 2014. Linda Carol knows that accomplishing her goals is a joint
effort between members and leadership. “I’m convinced REALTORS
® working together can execute these goals.” 12 IGEORGIA REALTOR®
