SCHROEDER Arnold Walter Schroeder was born Feb.
28, 1920, to Walter and Bertha Schroeder in Detroit and died Dec. 29, 2013, after a brief illness. He graduated from Eastern High School in Detroit in 1938. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 on a minesweeping ship in Alaskan and Russian waters. Following his military service, he worked as a civilian engineer for the De- troit Arsenal Tank Plant in Warren from 1946 to 1976. He was a proud life member for more than 57 years of Eure-
ka-North Warren Masonic Lodge No. 594 in Madison Heights, Mich. He was also a member of Moslem Shrine, and was active for many years in the setup of the Detroit Shrine Circus. After moving to Florida in 1985, he founded AWS Carpenter Con-
tractors in Oldsmar. He was an accomplished master carpenter who counted projects at Walt Disney World among his greatest successes. On April 20, 1942, he married Anneliese Beyer in Detroit, Mich. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2006. He married Sally Moir on Feb.

Club, and served as president of both DSC and the St. Clair Shores (Mich.) Figure Skating Club. He was a national dance competitor, a na- tional referee and a national judge during more than 65 years in the sport. He was a golf enthusiast who had a hole-in-one and achieved a
lifelong dream of playing the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. He was a member and resident of Crescent Oaks Country Club in Tarpon Springs. He is survived by his second wife, Sally; two children, Jacqueline
Addis of Palm Harbor and Kenneth (Cheryl) Schroeder of New Port Richey; four grandchildren, Dawn (Stephen) Parker of East Lansing, Mich., Robin (Michael) Hartnett of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., Michelle Kring of Evansville, Ind. and Shelly Schroeder; and two great-grand- children.
