Few people are able to achieve the cult fame on the Internet that Olym- pic and World fi gure skating coach Kathy Casey has been able to gar- ner. Over the past two years, Casey has worn festive sweaters into work at U.S. Figure Skating Headquarters that have been not only shared on- line and seen all over the world, but also featured recently in the Colora- do Springs’ Gazette. On Christmas Day, fans went online and voted for their favorite sweater. The results are in, and this sweater is the winner.

Skaters from various clubs across the New England region performed in a benefi t holi- day on ice show at Patriot Place in Foxboro, Mass. The show, held Dec. 15, was the fi rst of its kind for the outdoor rink. Proceeds from the event benefi tted the Boston area’s Cradles to Crayons program, which pro- vides basic clothing and supplies for needy children and families. In addition to several guest performances by area national- and regional-level skaters, Norfolk Frost Lime- lights Theatre on Ice group skated its “Island of Misfi t Toys” program. Ashley Brouillette was the show’s director. Sue Lalone served as the announcer; All Surround Sound En- tertainment played the music. The Paw- tucket and Providence FSC sponsored the event.
