USA TRIATHLON NAMES TWO NEW CERTIFIED PERFORMANCE CENTERS
The Greensboro, N.C.-based E3 Elite Human Performance has been named USA Triathlon’s newest Certified Performance Center. This is the seventh USA Triathlon Certified Performance Center and 11th certified center (including certified training locations) in the nation. Facilities and services available at E3 include a human performance lab, Endless Pool, Retul bike fitting, and VO2 exercise assessments and CO2 analysis. Additionally, members will have access to nutrition, physical therapy and sports psychology consultations, as well as a chance to work with USA Triathlon Certified Coaches. Also this summer, USA Triathlon welcomed Fitness Formula


Clubs (FFC)—Lincoln Park in Chicago, Ill., as the nation’s sixth USA Triathlon Certified Performance Center. The FFC Lincoln Park facility features a human performance lab, multi-lane lap swimming pool, 16-seat CompuTrainer MultiRider cycling studio, physical therapy center, and full service Spa with sports massage. Additionally, this Fitness Formula Club offers a variety of services to the club’s membership, including bike fittings, AlterG® Zero-Gravity treadmill, Korr™ CardioCoach+ metabolic testing for VO2 Max and Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), blood lactate threshold testing, underwater video analysis, and appointments with on-site USA Triathlon coaches, personal trainers, massage therapists, physical therapists and a licensed dietitian.


 


 


NATIONAL CHALLENGE COMPETITION RESULTS
For the second straight year, the DC Triathlon Club won the USA Triathlon National Challenge Competition, logging more than 164,500 weighted training miles between Dec. 1, 2012, and Feb. 28, 2013.


Designed to get triathletes excited about offseason training at the club level, the competition features official USA Triathlon clubs from across the country going head-to-head to see who can log the most training miles during the competition. A total of 1,551,902 weighted training miles were logged in three months.


The Triathlon Club of San Diego from San Diego, Calif., was second overall with 146,190.58 miles, and Cyclonaut Multisport of Agawam, Mass., once again finished third with 114,505.74. Winners in the other club divisions include Louisville Landsharks Triathlon Club (Division II, 77,262.62 miles), Brentwood Endurance Athletic Team (Division III, 73,665.23), Get Fit Families (Division IV, 73,111.98) and PR MultiSport Endurance Team (Division V, 45,407.29).


David Bowne, who represents Seattle’s Jet City Tri, captured the overall individual male win for the third year in a row with 8,519.89 miles, and Jacque Myers from the Tallahassee, Fla.-based Gulf Winds Triathletes logged 6,874.9 miles as the top female competitor, finishing third overall.
