Favorite thing about training on ice: I love to jump. I enjoy the height and speed of it.

Favorite thing about training on ice: I enjoy learning new elements. Right now I am learning a sequence of three double jumps.


Favorite thing about training off ice: I like the team spirit when we practice off ice. I like run- ning up hills, flexibility exercises and jumps.


Which part of the S.T.A.R.S combine did you enjoy the most?: I love V-ups, stork stands and push-ups. Top adult male: Sam Gordon

Favorite thing about training on ice: Outside of jumping like a jumping bean, I really love just skating. I’m always trying to work on improving my edge quality, especially in and out of turns, specifically counters and rockers.


Favorite thing about training off ice: A good portion of my off-ice training consists of weight

lifting. Lifting is difficult but it’s always fun to see how one can challenge your own body.


Which part of the S.T.A.R.S combine did you enjoy the most?: The hand press was my favor- ite. I think this is because I had never done this specific movement before and I was determined to be able to lift my own body weight over my hands.

Favorite thing about training on ice: I really enjoy the challenge of pushing myself to learn new skills and the satisfaction I feel when it all comes together in a program.


Favorite thing about training off ice: I love the sense of accomplishment I feel after completing a difficult workout. I try to do some sort of off- ice training every day, but my favorites include biking, inline skating and water sports.


Which part of the S.T.A.R.S combine did you enjoy the most?: I liked getting feedback on my strengths and what I need to work on. It was exciting to be a part of the first S.T.A.R.S. adult program.
