IN PRAISE OF SEADREAM Dear WoC
My wife and I are just back from our second cruise aboard the SeaDream I and, if anything, were even more impressed with the onboard style and service than we were before (in 2009). Small ships just don’t come any more accommodating and relaxing, and, as long as the sun shines, we simply don’t mind where we go with SeaDream (although it always seems to be where the big ships don’t go!).
FW Villager, Miami, USA
The Editor says: hopefully, you will really enjoy the special look we have at SeaDream as our Cover Story for this edition, on pages 21-25.
Dear WoC We are keen to know what new ships will be coming out in 2014 and what might be worth looking at for something new. Mr & Mrs H Lawley, Exeter, UK
The Editor says: we are delighted to offer our full table of new vessels for next year:

ON VIKING TRAIL Dear WoC
GREAT PORTS?
Dear WoC We were big fans of your ‘Great Ports of the World’ series a few years back and wonder if you have any plans to revive this feature?
Mr & Mrs John Deverill, Harrogate, Yorkshire
The Editor says: wonder no more. Great Ports is back in this issue, with a special look at San Francisco (pages 27-30).
8 WORLD OF CRUISING I Autumn 2013
May I say how much I enjoy your magazine since becoming a regular reader? In keeps me in touch with the whole cruising scene in all its many aspects. Several years ago, while cruise lecturing, I spent a series on a very happy little ship, the Royal Viking Sun. Later, following acquisition, it became the Seabourn Sun of Seabourn Cruise Line but after that I lost track of it. I would be interested to know if it is still in service and, if so, under what line. David A Kelly, Dundee, Scotland
The Editor says: many thanks for your kind words about the magazine, they are much appreciated. In
response to your query, the former Seabourn Sun (ex-Royal Viking Sun) is definitely still sailing, and for Holland America Line as their boutique trail-blazer, Prinsendam, since 2002. She sailed for Seabourn from 1999-2002 having been built in 1988 for Royal Viking Line and then acquired by Cunard in 1994. Carrying just 740 passengers, she now specialises in longer voyages of up to 68 days and this winter will be in the Caribbean, South America and Antarctica.
