TOOLS OF THE TRADE Phase I of the project entailed creating the TBL Tool,

testing the tool, identifying recommended upgrades and defining an implementation strategy. The beta version of the TBL Tool was released in late August 2012, with the beta test period concluding in May 2013. Feedback was collected through surveys and interviews. Upwards of 70% of potential end users reported that the tool would be useful to their organization or industry. Beta test results indicate that the tool is easy to use, provides meaningful information, and fills an identified need.

Recommended revisions are being identified and a

strategy for uptake defined. Suggested revisions address both content and functionality of the tool. For example, a “save as” feature will allow users to compare multiple versions of a project without re-entering all of the project information. Phase II entails revising and re-launching the TBL Tool

based on beta feedback and working with a broad array of industry leaders to apply the tool.
