Seatrek:

WE DON’T TEACH WE develop, cajole, assist, praise, listen, have patience, advice and strive to provide our customers with high quality sea training skill for life.

Having the right vessel and equipment is only part of the story when it comes to success afloat: Knowledge and skills are just as important.

With that in mind, Seatrek have set up a series of taster sessions at Scotland’s Boat Show. Both on and off the water, their expert instructors will offer bite-sized training sessions to whet the appetite. This will include RIB sessions, own boat, navigation, and use of charts. Each afternoon there will be a big boat demonstration on Island Fox of close quarter handling. Demand for them is expected to be high, so

Seatrek’s director Lesley Robertson urges those who are keen to get in touch to book a place although it is possible to turn up on the day.

On the Friday and Sunday we will be undertaking a radio work shop in the RYA marquee. On the Saturday we are promoting own boat tuition for families, we will supply an instructor who will help develop the whole family in close quarter handling so whether you are 8 or 80 it won’t be a problem.

Many boat owners find they want to brush up on their skills or perhaps they are not entirely comfortable with the change to a new vessel; with new layouts, different equipment on board we can assist with getting you familiar with your new surroundings and as such we are offering own boat tuition with an instructor in the marina during the boat show weekend. If this is something that you would like to do contact the office and we can arrange a time convenient to you; Many visitors to the boat show will be those who

are considering taking their first steps towards a life on the ocean wave. Members of Seatrek’s team will be on hand throughout the boat show to give advice and help where necessary. There is a full training programme in place for the next year covering all aspects of boating with a full complement of shore-based courses and extensive first aid and safety training too. This year Seatrek Training developed 1 hour taster sessions, for those that wanted to develop their skills and reduce the stress around the pontoon. This has been an excellent opportunity for those who don’t require a course but have wanted to gain more confidence in this area of their boating. Seatrek are dedicated to developing people’s skills in a friendly and professional environment. Their business began in 1998 as the first to specialise in power rather than sail. Since then they have expanded into the commercial market place developing the careers of many skippers up to Master 200 t.

They also have a small fleet of vessels for charter from RIBs to their motor yacht Island Fox. For more information please phone 01475 520381 or email info@seatrektraining.co.uk. Customer review Paul - Very good training course, with the highest level of tutoring and course work provided. I would recommend Seatrek to anyone interested in getting into the industry. Very friendly courteous crew who take the needs of everyone involved. Top marks on every aspect of the course from the interviews on day one until exams at the end.
