Inside a jet, cast components include cockpit control instrumentation and panels, environmen- tal system parts and cabin framework including seat and luggage rack supports.

Landing gear includes supports that can be produced as one-piece aluminum castings. Steel and high strength titanium also are used in landing gear assemblies.
Wheels might be the most recognizable— and most seen—casting in transportation, even by air.
Security bollards range from solid cast iron to a variety of tubular steel alloys fi lled with concrete. Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf, Iowa, casts solid steel bollards for demanding applications such as government building security.
