 Davies said the Kiwi's ratio of flying gybes to not was around 50/50 at the moment a percentage they were focused on improving by race day.  "It depends on our configuration for the day and the conditions that you have out there. The boats are easier to sail in flat water than they are with a bit of chop around. We are hoping to get the average up on those gybes a bit on what we have at the moment. Improving that has been a big focus for us.  "I remember it was pretty exciting when we pulled off a foiling gybe - there weren't too many people in the team who thought that was possible at the time. It has been very cool to see how much these boats have evolved in a very short space of time and how different the sailing is compared to what a lot of us thought it was potentially going to be like. It's been really interesting to see the development in even just the last year." Draper said pulling off flying gybes was primarily down to precision timing and crew coordination.  "It is very timing critical," he said. "There is a certain amount of warning that everybody needs to get everything prepared: get the new daggerboard prepared, get in positions to pump the oil that is required hydraulically etc. While all this is happening around me, I concentrate on steering.  Draper said getting through the dreaded bear away maneuver required the same levels of preparation and timing from the crew.  "The bear aways are all about timing, getting everybody prepared to get everything in place. Then it's about making sure you've got enough speed and the right numbers coming out of the bear away to pop out the foil nicely.
