Once a guest in her studio while she was painting a toy train setting, I can confirm that there were pieces of Lionel equipment displayed prominently within easy visual range of her easel. For me, Charleston is a beautiful city. Very ‘artsy,’ something of an art Mecca. It is urban, but the beach is just 15 minutes away. There is a vibrant food scene. Good restaurants are plentiful.” She does add, however, that “it is not as ‘train conscious’ as New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania But the web al- lows me to stay in touch and remain visible.” Through it all, what she is known for is her love of human figures and of trains. “A vast majority of my work remains trains-ori- ented,” she says. “I know trains, and want people to believe they are there — in the
