aving grown up in an environment where operating machinery was a common occurrence—his grand- fathers were farmers and his father is a heavy equipment operator—Chad Frank had a predisposition toward manu- facturing that reached full bloom in high school shop class where he got to work with manual mills and lathes. Today, he is one of Hydromat’s “go-to guys for Fanuc control systems” and a master of programming the company’s EPIC CNC control. “When you start out learning to run things manually you can really understand how it works,” Chad said. “That’s the way everyone should learn how to do it.”

member of a manufacturing family, Jason Dube has always been excited about engineering. That excite- ment led to a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. In looking for a job after graduation he sought not just a position, but an employer “that was also able to offer me room to grow. That way if I grew tired of manufacturing or a particular area of engineering I would be able to move on but stay with the same employer.” He found what he was after at Siemens. Dube was cited in his nomination for a wide range of engineering knowledge and skills as well as superior customer relations.
