than it was. I wish I could say there was some deep artistic motive for this but, the truth is, it is cheaper. The smaller pages help us pay for the extra pages.

Next, we have changed our contents page. We have grouped similar items together and colour- coded them so that it’s easier to fi nd your way around the magazine. The same colour-coding is used for the page numbers. Simple! When you get into the main part of the magazine you will (I hope) immediately notice that we have adopted a much “lighter” approach. More white space. More (and bigger) pictures. Better graphics. Oh yes, and for those of us who are a getting a bit older, a

I

n this Editor’s Letter I am going to be self-indulgent and focus on what’s happening within OPP. It is just a year since I joined OPP and, in my fi rst editorial last June, I said that I wanted to make a number of changes to the magazine. This edition, more or less, completes my initial wish list. The fi rst thing you will see is that we have got fatter: up from 68 pages to 80. You might also notice that the page size is slightly smaller

Our Publication Progresses!

Well, it’s here. The fresh new OPP magazine. Now Bigger & Better!

slightly larger font size. We have taken the opportunity presented by the extra pages to introduce some new regular features. “The Big Issue” will look at a topic

of major concern to our industry. This month we focus on Cyprus. Let me know what you would like us to cover– as ever, email john.howell@ opp-connect.com. “Market Report” surveys what

is happening in a particular market. We will be emailing a “call for assistance” to all of our readers based or doing business in that country and asking them to complete a short questionnaire. The fi rst report is on Portugal. Thank you to all who helped.

The old favourites – “The Round Table”, “Three Wise (Wo)men”, “Legal Roundup”, “Letters From” etc are, of course, all still here. Please let me know what you think of all these changes. So where do we go from here?

Our next big task is making dramatic improvements to the OPP digital magazine and newsletters. We want to make them more relevant, more interesting and easier to read – especially when using mobile devices. We will be carrying out a survey to fi nd out which sort of phone and tablet you use – iPhone, Android, Windows, Blackberry etc – and which device you would like to use to read OPP.
