Sugary Drinks Linked to Heart Disease
ne risk factor for heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States, may be sugary drinks. Analysis of data collected on 42,883 men in the “Health Professionals Follow- Up Study,” published in the American Heart Association journal Circulation, linked a daily 12-ounce serving of a sugar-sweetened drink to a 19 percent increase in the relative
O
risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Sugar-sweetened beverages were associated with higher levels of unhealthy triglycerides and C-reactive protein (a byproduct of infl ammation), and lower levels of high-density lipoprotein, or HDL, the “good” cholesterol. Senior study author Frank B. Hu,
Ph.D., a physician and professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health, in Boston, cautions that diet sodas are not a good alternative. “Some studies have found a relationship between diet soda and metabolic disease,” he notes.
Unlocking the Olive’s Best Kept Secret
The key to anti-aging and preventing the onset of age related diseases is to ensure that the body has an excess supply of antioxidants and phytochemicals (simple chemicals that come from plants rich in antioxidants) to neutralize free radical attacks and make repairs. Some antioxidants are produced naturally in the body; however, as we grow older the production decreases signifi cantly, and we need to acquire anti-aging antioxidants through our diet and supplements. Professor Dr. Roberto Crea, Chairman and CEO of CreAgri, Inc. has
unlocked olive’s best-kept secret. He has found a natural polyphenol compound known as “hydroxytyrosol” as having the highest level of free radical protection activity ever reported and has created Olivenol® Plus. The Mediterranean Diet is delicious and healthy. This diet promotes consumption of lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains with regular intake of fi sh topped off with a healthy splash of olive oil. People in the Mediterranean regions have lower rates of cardiovascular diseases. Working from this basis, scientifi c studies have concluded that polyphenols (a family of natural antioxidant compounds found in olives) provide multiple health benefi ts: cardiovascular wellness, colon and breast health, skin beauty and protection, balanced immune system and reduced oxidative stress. Olivenol® Plus is a broad spectrum anti-infl ammatory formulation of organic olive polyphenols containing hydroxytyrosol. Clinically-proven effective in the fi ght against the damaging effects of free radicals and pro- infl ammatory factors to body tissues, it is free of solvents, ecologically- produced according to sustainable practices. One dose contains as much antioxidant polyphenols as 8 to 12 ounces of extra virgin olive oil! Order Olivenol® Plus at
