true legends of the game from Virginia Wade to Fabrice Santoro and West Lancashire’s own Barry Cowan. Tournament director, Anders Borg says: “Tis

Tis is a fantastic opportunity for us to support a world-class event in our local community as well as give our students the chance to experience international level tennis.” Te tennis tournament has thrived since it


started in 2002 and tennis greats including Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe, Novac Djokovic, Martina Hingis, Marat Safin and Bjorn Borg have graced the grass courts at Calderstones Park over the intervening years. Now Europe’s largest tennis exhibition, this


year will see both tennis legends and aspiring champions compete in a purpose built centre court stadium situated in South Liverpool’s Calderstones Park. Fans who return to Calderstones year after year


will attest the event has always been more than just a traditional tennis tournament. It really is an event offering something for everyone – from the Ladies Day fashion show, to the corporate


hospitality, the youth programme and the ever popular Legends matches featuring some of the greatest heroes from the tennis hall of fame. Sponsorship and corporate hospitality packages


are still available for this year’s tournament. Sponsors and businesses which take a table will also get the opportunity to put staff forward for a corporate tennis competition being held at a purpose built tennis court on Chavasse Park, with refreshments provided by Palm Sugar. Te winning players of the corporate competition will get to compete during the tennis tournament against tennis legends.
