HAVE WE GOT NEWS FOR YOU

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

I am writing to draw your attention to the use of advertorials in Parking News. I appreciate that if the company has paid to include an item in the magazine you may not have had editorial control of the statements included, but I am concerned that this is presented in an article format and with the title ‘Advertorial’ that may easily

mislead readers. I suggest that the name

‘Advertorial’ attributed to a page implies an advert with some form of editorial authenticity.

I hope that this means you will share my concerns if an article is factually incorrect and misleading to your readers. As the offi cial publication for our trade association, the BPA, I

would not expect you to allow one member to represent themselves in a way that will be detrimental to other members, even if they do pay for items to be included. Trevor Clark Director, Buchanan Order Management

Thank you for your comments, which have been noted. PN

This year’s BPA Members’ Dinner is to be held once again at the Drapers’ Hall, London. Guest speaker this year will be the author, broadcaster and former MP, Gyles Brandreth, who is best known for his appearances on Have I Got News For You, Radio Four programme Just a Minute and, most recently, The One Show. The dinner will take place on 27 November and tickets, which have been frozen at last year’s prices, are available via the BPA.
