Every state deserves a book like this
one. It is well written, although the text is minimal, and filled with great im- ages. Laid out in a horizontal album format, its focus is on presenting pic- tures of railroading in the North Star State. Like many books of this type it is aimed at a general audience, but unlike many of the railroad-theme photo books one might find on the shelves or sale tables of the large chain book stores, this one will also please the rail- fan. The photographs are well chosen, well reproduced and, taken together, present a coherent story of Minnesota railroading from the steam-to-diesel transition era to the present.
