Dental Mavericks
Te glitzy charity event was organised by the owners of the Liverpool Dental Spa in Brunswick Street, Marius and Debbie McGovern, along with Julie Perry Events, to raise funds for their team to carry out an expedition with the ‘Dental Mavericks’ to the Rif Mountains in North Africa to treat over 500 children with chronic dental problems.
Marius McGovern, Clinical Director of the Liverpool Dental Spa, said: “Te event has raised over £20,000 tonight and will enable us to help many children who are suffering needlessly.”

In attendance were TiE UK Charter Members, high net worth individuals, political and public figures, including James Caan, pop star and founder of New York Coffee Club Peter Andre, Jacqueline Gold, CEO of Ann Summers and Knickerbox, online gaming billionaire Vikrant Bhargava, Lord and Lady Dholakia and Lord Loomba, amongst several other distinguished names.
ST. REGIS MAURITIUS Grand Opening St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, proudly celebrated the highly-anticipated official opening of Te St. Regis Mauritius Resort, marking the brand’s first hotel in Africa and the 30th St. Regis hotel in the world. Te official opening ceremony was inaugurated by the Prime Minsiter of Mauritius, Dr Te Hon Navinchandra Ramgoolam in the presence of Mr. Ashok Uttamchandani and Mr. Ashish Nurani, owners of Te St. Regis Mauritius Resort, Mr. Frits van Paasschen, President and CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Hassan Ahdab, Vice President Africa and Indian Ocean and Mr. Bernard de Villèle, General Manager. Te celebration was attended by more than 350 influential hospitality figures and guests from Mauritius. Hosted at the exclusive St. Regis Mauritius Resort around the Manor House, the festivities were designed to celebrate St. Regis hotels from 1904 to 2013 and opened with a dance performance and speeches by the Prime Minister and van Paasschen. Te evening event included cocktails and an epicurean tour, followed by a spectacular fireworks show and live musical performances.
