“After speaking to people who had been involved in football for a number of years I realised that you have to develop your ability to speak in front of other people. This allied to the fact that I have a keen interest in journalism and photography meant that the Media Course was appealing to me.” “Overall the course was excellent with the interaction with the other participants being a big part of this. The atmosphere was relaxed and offered great opportunity to not only learn from those teaching but also the other players, especially as they all had extensive and varying experiences within football.”
“I believe that the course offered a great insight into how the media works and also taught me that I should be more confident and have greater belief in my own ability whenever offered media opportunities or asked to do any form of public speaking.”
“Overall, the course offers tremendous information for both players and managers in a number of areas such as promoting yourself, promoting your club and dealing with difficult questions or situations. In my opinion the course would be of particular benefit to younger players who are often thrown into a media spotlight with little or no guidance.”

“I decided to enrol on the media course as I primarily wanted to improve my confidence levels while speaking in front of large groups, such as in team talks or squad meetings. I also wanted to improve the quality of my speech delivery during such talks as I feel that this is an important but sometimes overlooked aspect of coaching.”
“I found the course extremely informative and considering that prior to participating in it I had doubts about my ability to speak in front of large audiences, it is encouraging that I now feel far more confident and
comfortable delivering a speech to a group.” “I must confess that prior to beginning the media course I had some doubts as to whether it would be beneficial to my coaching development as I thought it would concentrate solely on the media side of the game. However having now completed the course I would strongly recommend that any PFA member undertake it as no matter what career they wish to pursue in the future it would be of great benefit. In my opinion it is a “communication course” which will be of great assistance to all aspects of my future work and life.”
