Products Inspection & measurement Adaptable 3D inclinometer
Turck Banner’s 3D inclinometer can be adapted extensively and precisely by the customer to the requirements of the application via IO-Link. With a double 360 degree measuring range, the sensor is not limited to a max- imum ±85 degrees. Users cannot only set individual vibration filters that pre- cisely mask out the vibration frequency of your machine, but also define the zero point, switch points or switch windows according to the mounting position and requirements at hand. As well as vibrations, the sensor also suppresses potential error sources such as accelera- tions or shocks. The extensive range of assignable parameters and the maximum
sensing range of 360 degrees on two axes enable the sensors to be suitable for virtually any application. Turck designed a second variant according to the e1 specification for use in utility vehicles and construction machinery. The variant is resistant to extreme temperatures from -40 to +85 °C Turck Banner T: 01268 578888

Infrared non-contact thermometer
The Mini RayTemp infrared thermometer from ETI is a compact, light- weight and low cost non-contact infrared thermometer. Simply aim and pull the trigger to display the temperature of the item being measured. This infrared thermometer measures temperature over the range of - 50 to 330°C with an assured accuracy of ±2°C over the range of 0 to 330°C. Outside of this range (-50 to 0 °C) accuracy is ±4 °C. The Mini RayTemp has a clear, easy to read, LCD display with low
battery, backlight indication and an auto-power off facility that turns the instrument off after 10 seconds, maximising battery life. This ther- mometer is suitable for numerous temperature measurement applications where contact with the item to be measured is an issue.
The thermometer has laser dot alignment as standard, to assist in pin-pointing the measurement area. It incorporates a 12:1 optic ratio (target distance/diameter ratio) and a fixed emissiv- ity of 0.95 making it suitable for a range of applications. ETI T: 01903 202151

New ranges introduced for torque measuring system Kistler Instruments has added three new measuring
ranges to its KiTorq torque measuring system. The new ranges of 100, 200, and 5 000Nm have been added to the existing ranges of 500, 1,000, 2,000 or 3,000Nm measuring ranges. All ranges are available with an accuracy class of 0.05 per cent of range. These additional ranges complete the portfolio for test benches for internal combustion engines, electric motors, transmissions and drive trains. Rotors of different sizes can be combined with same ringless stator, which allows different items to be tested without the complete reconstruction of the test stand. The ringless stator design speeds up the installation, protects against damage during assembly operations and facili- tates visual observation during the test process. A single, intelligent stator can be used with any KiTorq rotor of the same speed rating and will automatically recognise the rotor

measuring range. This minimises hardware invest- ment as one stator may be used with rotors of differ- ing ranges for different applications.
The solid measuring flange is extremely robust and has been tested to EN 60068-2-27 for mechanical shock, EN 60068-2-6 for triaxial vibration loading and EN 61326-1 for interference immunity. The KiTorq system is supplied as standard with SensorTool configuration and diagnostic software and calibration certificates. When replacing an individual rotor or stator, the notional cal- ibration values can be calculated to avoid the need to have the unit recalibrated by the
manufacturer. The KiTorq measuring flange is suitable for use in test rigs for electric motors, internal combustion engines, transmissions, pumps and compressors. Kistler Instruments

The new Elcon single face metal detector from S+S Inspection is simple to install in existing and new conveyor belt and chute sys- tems for the detection of magnetic and non-magnetic contamination up to 100mm high in both low volume and bulk applications. Installed under the belt or chute, the detector, requires no addi- tional metal free zone and may be used as a belt bed plate.
Equipped with the Primus con- trol unit, the detector is available with a range of audible and visual detection signals and may be combined with a conveyor stop or a reject mechanism signal for automatic operation. The con- trol unit uses two-channel phase technology combined with digi- tal processing and automatic self- calibration to increase performance reliability and con-

sistency of metal detection whilst simplifying operation and increasing productivity. The auto-learn capability minimises set-up time and is especially effective when inspecting electri- cally conductive materials, including metal oxides and carbon black, in the plastics man- ufacturing industry.
The S+S Elcon is suitable for applications in plastics produc- tion and recycling, chemicals and timber industries. It is avail- able in a range of standard sizes to suit most applications. S+S Inspection T: 01489 553740

food and beverage Micro-Epsilon has launched a new IP69K-protected series of laser sensors that are suitable for measuring displace- ment, distance and position in demand- ing environments, including food and beverage processing and other harsh process manufacturing applications. The new optoNCDT 1402SC sensor series have a stainless steel enclosure that provides class IP69K protection. The sensor is resistant to high-pressure jet washing, as well as providing resis- tance to aggressive cleaning chemicals, detergents and disinfectants, including hydrogen peroxide and other alkaline- or chlorine-based cleaning agents. The sensor is available in eight mod- els with measuring ranges from 5mm up to 600mm. The sensor benefits from an extremely robust, compact and lightweight (83g) design.
The optoNCDT 1402SC range achieves reliable measurement results if operating environments are even more demanding. Like all optoNCDT 1402 sensors, the SC version has an integral controller that automatically compen- sates in real time for difficult-to-mea- sure surfaces such as shiny metal, gloss paint finishes and black rubber. This real time surface compensation (RTSC) fea- ture allows for accurate measurement of a variety of object parameters, including thickness, roundness, position, deflec- tion, tilt, displacement and vibration.
