West and South West regions drive for golfers

Calling all West and South West members – it’s time for you to step up to the plate (or should that be ‘tee’?). The annual ECA National Golf Competition is now in its 13th year, and the South and West region is encouraging all members to take part. The event takes place Thursday 9 May 2013 at the beautiful Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf and Spa in Essex. West and South West

regions haven’t managed

to put up a team in previous years, so this would be a great opportunity to get involved. The event will be well subsidised for this region as well – so even more of a reason to show off your golf swing. For more details, please email West and South West regional manager Matthew McKaig at Matthew.McKaig@eca.co.uk

West Midlands charity success

ECA Birmingham and Mercia branches have raised an impressive amount of charitable funding through their last dinner and dance, held on 14 November 2012. At this event, the dinner dance committee presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Electrical and Electronics Industries Benevolent Association (EEIBA) industry charity. Mike Burnard, who sits on the Midlands EEIBA committee, accepted this generous donation on behalf of the charity. The evening’s fundraising didn’t stop there. Donations for the

Hibbs Lupus Trust and Breast Cancer Awareness were also collected from the generous guests. A big and warm thank you goes out to everyone who took part in the fundraising.
