The Energy Wellness Center Welcomes Dr. Jan Thomas D


r. Jan Thomas, RMT, CPT, ND, CLC, PMA, is a mother, natural medicine


practitioner, life coach, personal trainer, pastoral counselor—and End Stage Cancer Survivor. She started her career as a New Jersey food chemist for Basic Foods doing Research & Development for the bakery industry. Distressed by the chemical overtones, she became a strong advocate for a better wellness model. Dr. Thomas has spent over 25 years educating herself and others on the


importance of good nutrition and a balanced lifestyle. Through her extensive educational path she has mastered the use of many modalities. Using energy medicine, Meridian Analysis, Electric Acupuncture, Body Composition Screening, Mineral Testing, Emotional Release, QRA (Quantum Refl ex Analysis), Weight Loss Management, Cation Packing for EMF (Electro Magnetic Field), Interference Field Damage, Goal Setting and Accountability Coaching, she combines these techniques to restore to a state of homeostasis. Jan attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, Texas SSM,


Clayton College of Natural Health, NASM and Light University. A recent survivor of advanced stage peritoneal cancer, she integrated Eastern and Western medicine to heal herself. Her desire is that everyone should be healed. Dr. Thomas is presently working with elite-level Olympic athletes to recover from injuries and with individuals on W.O.W. (Wellness Optimizes Weight). Cooking Demos at The Center for Natural and Integrative Medicine

ften we read the latest book, watch a TV show or talk to a doctor or nutrition expert about our health. We get inspired to start making changes—and then fi nd ourselves at the grocery store or farmers market not knowing what to do or where to start. Most of us know the importance of eating healthier and incorporating more vegetables; however, we have a hard time knowing how to prepare them and make them taste good. Kiara Oberhaensli, Nutrition Educator at The Center for Natural and Integrative Medicine, has created a remedy for that situation. Each month she offers a cooking demonstration. These classes are taught at round tables with no more than 30 participants. During each class 3-4 recipes are sampled. Each recipe is discussed in detail: from where to purchase ingredients, how to utilize them, how to prepare the recipes and fi nally how to store leftovers. The nutritional benefi t of various ingredients is also discussed. Each monthly demonstration has a different focus—but all classes are always gluten-free and dairy-free. The mission of the cooking demos are to help people get into the kitchen and learn how to make easy, delicious and healthy recipes for a family or one.
