Third-generation Sennheiser brothers take the reins at the microphone giant, writes Dave Robinson


DANIEL AND Andreas Sennheiser have each been promoted to the position of joint CEO at Sennheiser electronic GmbH KG, the microphone/headphone manufacturing giant. In addition, the brothers will share the role of speaker of the Executive Management Board, held since 2007 by Volker Bartels, who will transfer to a management role in Research & Quality at the company. The unanimous decision behind the double promotion was made by the shareholders of the Sennheiser Group. As joint CEOs, Daniel and Andreas, two of the three children of


chairman Prof Dr Jorg Sennheiser, will report to the Sennheiser Supervisory Board and Shareholders Assembly. Dr Heinrich Esser, president


of professional systems and installed sound, has “decided to pursue new challenges outside the Sennheiser Group”, following an “amicable agreement”, the company said in a statement. The senior-level shifts have


resulted in some restructuring of responsibilities across the executive management board. Peter Callan will continue to manage the Sennheiser Consumer Electronics Division, with additional responsibility


for Sennheiser Communications within the group. Peter Claussen retains his role as manager of the Integrated Systems Division, while taking on the Professional Systems Division. The Global Sales Division


remains with Paul Whiting, with responsibility for the areas of EMEA, Americas and APAC along with Customer Service and Aviation. Whiting will also take over responsibility for Services. The board is completed by


newcomer Thomas Weinzierl, who heads up the entire supply chain covering production sites in Germany, Ireland and the US, along with engineering and the supply chain management team. The Sennheiser Group,

INDUSTRY VETERAN Bruno Garros, formerly with the Martin Professional group, has taken on the role of executive VP of global sales and business development at APG, effective on 1 June. In addition, Garros has also significantly increased the share capital of the company and taken a 25% shareholding in the business. “As a company APG


is motivated and dynamic with genuinely pioneering product concepts,” said Garros. “However, the company lacked the necessary resources, both financial and human, to optimise their strategies and ideas.
